Koji Fujiwara is the president and CEO of Mizuho Bank, Ltd., which has one of the largest customer bases in Japan and extends to major financial and business centers around the world. Under his leadership, Mizuho Bank is developing and enhancing their online and mobile services through the incorporation of FinTech to ensure that they position themselves as a leader in the financial services of the future. He is also chairman of the Japanese Bankers Association since 2018. Mr. Fujiwara joined Mizuho Bank in 1985 and has served in various roles within Mizuho Bank, Ltd. and Mizuho Financial Group, Inc. Prior to his current position, he was the group chief strategy officer and member of the Board of Directors of Mizuho Financial Group, Inc., as well as the head of Strategic Planning Group and executive managing director of Mizuho Bank, Ltd. Mr. Fujiwara holds a bachelor’s from Waseda University, an MBA from New York University, and an MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
