Donald Kanak is the Chairman of Eastspring Investments, Prudential plc’s Asia based asset manager with US$195 billion in assets under management. Don is also Chairman of Prudence Foundation, the community engagement arm of Prudential in Asia. Don, based in Hong Kong, has worked in Asia for over 30 years. He is Chairman of the EU-ASEAN Business Council, a Senior Fellow of the Harvard Law School Program on International Financial Systems, and a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. Don was Chairman of Prudential Corporation Asia from 2008 to 2015. In 2011-12, he chaired the World Economic Forum's Global Council on Insurance and Asset Management, and currently co-Chairs the Forum’s Sustainable Development Investment Partnership ASEAN Hub. From 1992 to January 2006 Don worked at American International Group (AIG), ultimately as Executive Vice Chairman and COO. During that period, his outside roles included serving as a director of the US-Japan and US-China Business Councils, and as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan in 2002 and its Chairman in 2003.
