
Nicole Bintner-Bakshian has been the Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to the United States since 2021. She is also non-resident Ambassador to Mexico.Previously Nicole Bintner-Bakshian served as Luxembourg's Special Envoy to the Sahel, setting up the country’s first regional embassy in Dakar, Senegal, covering Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger. In 2013 she became Luxembourg’s first resident ambassador to the United Arab Emirates. This was after diplomatic assignments in Bangkok, Thailand, and Beijing, PRC. Nicole Bintner-Bakshian was also appointed as Advisor to the Executive Board of the Asian Development Bank in Manila, Philippines from 2005 to 2008. Prior assignments took her to Vietnam, Pakistan and India before she joined the Luxembourg Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1999, where she served a.o. for four years as private secretary to the Foreign Minister.
