Jose Olympio Pereira

CEO, Banco J. Safra

José Olympio Pereira is the CEO of Banco J. Safra, the Investment Banking, Debit Capital Markets, Equities and Wealth Management Division of J. Safra Group in Brazil. From 2012 to 2021, Mr. Pereira served as CEO of Credit Suisse in Brazil, after leading the bank’s Investment Banking division from 2004 to 2012. He also worked at Citigroup from 2001 to 2004 as Head of Investment Banking in Brazil and Co-Head for Latin America. Previously, from 1998 to 2001, he was the President of the Brazilian subsidiary of Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette. His career began at Banco de Investimentos Garantia, where he worked for 13 years starting in 1985. In addition to his career in finance, he is a collector of contemporary Brazilian art and serves as a board member of various art institutions both in Brazil and abroad. Mr. Pereira is also a member of the board of the SOS Mata Atlântica, a Brazilian Environmental NGO.
