Martin is a Co-Founder at HYPE, a venture builder that invests and operates China JVs with hyper-growth companies from the US. HYPE was founded by former GMs of category-defining companies such as Airbnb, WeWork, Uber, and Flexport, where they were the founding teams on the ground in Asia. Previously, Martin was an early employee at Uber and part of the founding team that set up Uber China. Martin led the launch of some of the earliest Uber China cities, including Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hangzhou, as well as setting up different business units between 2013 and 2016. At the start of his career, Martin worked in private equity where he focused on special situations and distressed investments. He graduated from Boston University with a degree in Finance and International Management.
