Andrea  Ferris

Andrea Ferris became involved with lung cancer advocacy after her mother’s death from the disease in 2008. She left the software company that she helped launch to found Protect Your Lungs, which focused on funding early detection research. In 2010, she merged Protect Your Lungs with LUNGevity to form the nation’s largest lung cancer-focused nonprofit organization. LUNGevity funds translational research in early detection and more effective treatments of lung cancer manages a Career Development Awards program and provides education, support, and survivorship programs. Ferris has served on several boards, including Achievement Rewards for College Scientists and the Ronald McDonald House. Ferris received her B.S. in economics and her M.B.A. from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
