Afsaneh Mashayekhi Beschloss is founder and CEO of RockCreek. She was previously a partner at Carlyle, President of Carlyle Management, Treasurer and Chief Investment Officer of the World Bank, and worked at Shell and J.P. Morgan. She has advised governments, regulators, and central banks on financial policy, and led the World Bank’s energy policy and investments, including in impactful investments, renewable energy and power to reduce carbon emissions. She is Vice Chair of the PBS Board and trustee of the Institute for Advanced Study and World Resources Institute. She was recognized by the Carnegie Corporation of New York in their Great Immigrants, Great Americans 2020 list, has received the Institutional Investor Lifetime Achievement Award and the Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights Ripple of Hope Award, and has been listed among the “Most Powerful Women in Banking” by American Banker. She holds an MPhil in economics from Oxford.
