Michael S. Meldman is Chairman and CEO of Discovery Land Company and Founding Partner of Casamigos Tequila. Mike founded Discovery Land Company out of an enduring love of family and nature and out of a deep personal desire to create intimate communities where families could forge lasting bonds, create intergenerational memories, and enrich their lives in exquisite and untouched sanctuaries. With his debut development, Estancia, in his home town of Phoenix, and refined during time in Montana with his sons, Mike set out to create luxurious, but casual, service-driven destinations. His commitment drove him to select the most pristine properties throughout North America, and now, internationally. A graduate of Stanford University, Mike’s passion began as a broker in Northern California in 1982. After years of trial and error, he established Discovery Land Company in 1994. Over the past 30 years, he has cultivated a reputation for integrity and innovation and has developed over 23 exclusive, award-winning private resort communities, with many more on the horizon.
