Jun Yamazaki Ambassador of Japan to Singapore Jun Yamazaki has been Ambassador of Japan to Singapore since October 2018. Prior to Singapore, he served as Ambassador of Japan to Sweden from 2015 to 2018. He entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan in 1980 and worked at the Economic Affairs Bureau, Foreign Policy Bureau and Asian Affairs Bureau before being posted overseas to Indonesia and New York. He was a member of the Advisory Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Questions (2003-2007), Assistant Secretary-General, Controller, of the United Nations Secretariat (2008-2011) and Ambassador (later one of the Deputy Permanent Representatives) at Japan's Permanent Mission to the United Nations (2011-2014). He was the Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2014-2015). He graduated from University of Tokyo with a Bachelor of Arts in 1980.
