Mr Teng started work after leaving high school in 1968. He first worked as an Accounts Clerk and slowly climbed the corporate ladder in the next 28 years in various industries. He has held wide ranging positions including CFO of Guthrie Malaysia Holding Group, WBL and Managing Director of Morgan Grenfell Investment Management (Asia) and UBS Asset Management, Singapore. In 1996, he founded the Target Asset Management, a fund management company which focuses in Asian equities. Later in 2010, at the age of 60, he founded The Silent Foundation which is dedicated to assist the 'silent suffers'. Silent Sufferers refer to those who are being overlooked by the society at large. This is in line with Mr Teng investment philosophy which focuses in investing in overlooked and unloved stocks.
