Valerie Red-Horse Mohl

VALERIE RED-HORSE MOHL, of Cherokee ancestry, is Co-Founder and President of Known Holdings, a financial services growth platform led by Black, Indigenous, Latinx and Asian American leaders focused on eliminating the racial wealth gap. She previously spent five years in philanthropic leadership as the former CFO of East Bay Community Foundation, where she led initiatives focused on 100% mission alignment of portfolio investments and prior to that as the Executive Director of Social Venture Circle (Impact Investing nonprofit). She previously founded the first Native American owned investment bank and currently holds seven FINRA registrations. Additionally, she serves as the Advisory Board Chair of Stanford University’s Center for the Comparative Studies in Race and Ethnicity and teaches an undergraduate course on Entrepreneurship for Racial Equity at Stanford. She also serves as Board Chair for the National Boys and Girls Clubs - Native Services. She is also the owner of Red-Horse Native Productions and is an award-winning film producer, director and writer. She was inducted into the NAWBO (National Association of Women Business Owners) Hall of Fame in 2008 and was recognized in 2022 as one of the Bay Area’s Most Influential Women. Red-Horse Mohl has been married since 1982 to former NFL professional Curt Mohl and they have three children.
