Justin Sun

Justin Sun, born in July 1990, is the founder of TRON and a pioneer and practitioner in blockchain and the metaverse. He currently serves as a global advisory board member for Huobi. Sun holds a Master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree from Peking University. In September 2017, Sun established TRON, a blockchain ecosystem committed to accelerating the decentralization of the Internet through blockchain technology and DApps. Today, TRON boasts over 180 million users worldwide and an industry-leading TVL (Total Value Locked) second only to Ethereum. Having a keen interest in the digitalization of artworks, Sun acquired a series of masterpieces by renowned artists such as Picasso, Giacometti, Andy Warhol, Beeple, Pak, and KAWS, amounting to nearly 1 billion CNY. To facilitate the NFTization and digitalization of artworks, he later donated the majority of these remarkable pieces to the APENFT Foundation. Sun is also actively engaged in philanthropic endeavors. In 2019, he won a bid for Warren Buffett's charity lunch with $4.568 million, which was earmarked by the Glide Foundation for the homeless and helpless. In June 2021, he secured the seats aboard Blue Origin's New Shepard. The auction money went to Blue Origin’s foundation Club for the Future to inspire future generations to pursue careers in STEM and help invent the future of life in space. Forbes included Sun in its 30 under 30 Asia list in 2017, and in its 30 under 30 China list in 2015.
