As emerging economies in Latin America, Africa, and Southeast Asia continue to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, many emerging market economies look better positioned than they were during the Global Financial Crisis. After a year of slower global growth, rising borrowing costs, persistent supply chain issues, surging prices, and geopolitical tension, projections now indicate that the economic slowdowns in many regions may have ended thanks in part to China reopening, a resilient India, and unexpected growth in Russia.
