While we may not yet have flying cars, artificial intelligence (AI) is already pervasive in our everyday lives. The technology is evolving full tilt with immense economic opportunity and the potential to upheave lives, industries, and governments as we know them. But while there are definite upsides, there is also a dark side. How should we take the warnings of figures like Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk regarding the potential hazards of AI?
