Future of Health Summit 2019

Lunch Program | Part 1: A Conversation with Alex Azar, Secretary, US Department of Health and Human Services | Part 2: Optimizing Health Through Food

This session will open with a conversation with Alex Azar, Secretary, US Department of Health and Human Services.

Food is one of the strongest levers to optimal health. Consuming a nutritious, healthy diet can boost immunity, prevent and treat disease, and contribute to overall happiness. However, consuming a healthy diet is simply out of reach for many people. In the US, approximately 37.2 million people live in food-insecure households, with limited or uncertain access to enough food to support healthy lives. As interest in food and health grows, how can we leverage innovative solutions not only to address food insecurity, but also to promote overall health? This panel will feature leading stakeholders who can offer actionable solutions for increasing access to healthy and sustainable foods for all.
