How Has the Digital Age Transformed Democracy and Civil Discourse?

Wednesday, May 3, 2023
11:30 AM - 12:30 PM PDT
Beverly Hilton - Wilshire Garden

Technology has transformed our daily lives, enabling the rapid proliferation of ideas and content, while also presenting new challenges. This panel will explore the digital age's impact on democracy and civil discourse, addressing the delicate balance between free speech, public safety, and cybersecurity. How has technology transformed the way we relate to one another and the world around us—for better or worse? Our panelists will discuss disinformation campaigns, privacy concerns, and the responsibilities of governments, tech companies, and individuals in ensuring a secure and open digital society, all within the framework of preserving democratic values.
