The application of technology—including artificial intelligence (AI), robotics, and a range of smart-bio innovations—has the potential to transform the global food system radically, making it more resilient, sustainable, and equitable. Innovators and entrepreneurs are developing new ways to tackle the most pressing social and sustainability challenges of our time, including leveraging big data and AI to prevent food loss and waste, measuring carbon sequestration, responsibly using farm inputs, using robots to alleviate labor shortages, and identifying the most drought-resistant crops.
