Michael leads State Street Global Markets Macro Strategy team focusing on how the behavior of investors, the measured media narrative and online retailers can help with investment decisions. In this role he regularly consults with many of the world's largest institutional investors as well as policy makers. His team is consistently voted as providing some of the best capital flow and macro research to institutional investors by industry surveys. Having trained as an economist at Cambridge University, Michael has spent twenty-four years as a macro strategist working in financial markets. He is a regular commentator in the financial media, presenter at industry conferences and has had two provocative policy talks published on TED.com on printing money for international aid and a provocative way to tackle climate change.
