Jason Bantjes

Psychologist and Senior Lecturer, Department of Psychology, Stellenbosch University

Jason Bantjes (PhD) is an Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at Stellenbosch University, South Africa. He is also a practising counselling psychologist with more than 20 years’ experience providing psychotherapeutic services to adolescents and young adults, in a range of settings including schools and universities. He previously served as the South African National Representative for the International Association of Suicide Prevention. His areas of research include suicide prevention and the promotion of mental health. He also has an interest in disability studies and issues of social exclusion. His research on student mental health is financially supported by the South African Medical Research Council.
