Sam Schiller is a climate impact entrepreneur and environmental policy advocate. He helped launch and scale two related environmental startups - Wabashco, and Tradewater - which focused on carbon offset and clean energy project development. This work produced 21 carbon offset projects that generated over 2 million tons of greenhouse gas reductions credited and monetized within California's compliance emissions trading program. Since exiting Tradewater in the spring of 2018, he has focused on utilizing environmental markets to facilitate carbon storage within agricultural landscapes. His latest venture, Carbon Yield, enables farmers to transition to practices that mitigate climate change and improve the value of their crops. Sam has consulted food business and nonprofit clients around opportunities in carbon markets, climate bonds, blockchain incentive programs, and value added labeling that can help fund and accelerate transitions to regenerative agriculture. Sam also serves as Board Vice Chair of the Delta Institute, a nonprofit with deep experience in environmental markets, community collaboration, and social entrepreneurship. Sam is pursuing his MBA at Northwestern's Kellogg School of Management.
