Manny Oteyza is a Los Angeles, Cincinnati based filmmaker and owner of Manny O Productions. A graduate of the American Film Institute, Producing program. Manny produced the award-winning feature film documentary, BLACKFISH, which premiered at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival and subsequent worldwide distribution by Magnolia Pictures, CNN Films and NBC Universal. Shortlisted for the 2014 Academy Awards and nominated for a BAFTA. It's impact on marine mammals in captivity and SeaWorld became known as the "Blackfish effect". Manny is currently in production producing/directing KEEPERS OF THE WILD uncovering the underworld of Roadside Zoo's and Wildlife Trafficking happening in our own backyard, the US. Besides animal-related issues his other projects involve environmental and criminal justice reform issues. His goal is to give a voice to the voiceless through storytelling. Manny began his career in narrative script development at 20th Century Fox to Producing over 50+ hours of cable programming for the various Discovery Networks and National Geographic Channel. His other works include branded corporate content and educational short films for Disney Educational Products, Solving for X with Bill Nye.
