June Henton

Dr. June Henton is Professor and Dean of the College of Human Sciences at Auburn University. Her publication record includes a list of books, book chapters, and articles reflecting her primary areas of research, viz. Interpersonal dynamics, family resilience, premarital violence, and relationship stability. Dr. Henton's Deanship has been defined by innovative initiatives and partnerships focused on human sustainability and quality of life in the global arena. Some of these signature programs include the International Quality of Life Awards, Cary Center for the Advancement of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Studies, Center for Health Ecology and Equity Research, and the Hunger Solutions Institute. Dean Henton's achievements have been widely recognized through such honors as a White House Champion of Change, Citation of Leadership for Universities Fighting World Hunger by the President of Honduras, and the US Green Building Council of Alabama Award for leadership in sustainability. Dr. Henton earned her B.S. from Oklahoma State University, her M.S. from the University of Nebraska, and her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota. She was also conferred the Doctor of Laws degree, honoris causa by the University of Guelph.
