Sherry Lansing is CEO of the Sherry Lansing Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to cancer research, public education and encore career opportunities. The foundation's initiatives include the EnCorps STEM Teachers Program, which retrains technology professionals and military veterans as California math and science teachers. In addition, Lansing is a co-founder of Stand Up to Cancer. She serves on the University Of California Board Of Regents and on the boards of the Broad Center, the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine, the Carter Center, Encore.org and the W.M. Keck Foundation, among others. During nearly 30 years in the movie business, Lansing was involved in the production, marketing and distribution of more than 200 films, including Academy Award winners Forrest Gump, Braveheart, and Titanic. Lansing was the first woman to head a major motion picture studio, when she was named President of 20th Century Fox in 1980, at the age of 35.
