Dr. Dave Tapolczay has more than 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry. During which he held senior management positions in Pharma/Biotech (VP, SVP) at GSK, Zeneca and Millennium. He has started and personally invested in 8 companies in Biotech and Pharma (4 trade sales completed, 1 now AIM listed and one London Stock exchange listed). Dr Tapolczay is currently CEO and a trustee of SGS Capital a UK charity in healthcare, prior to this he spent 11 years as the CEO of LifeArc (formerly MRC Technology, the charity responsible for the commercialization of Medical Research Council science). SGS Capital is engaged in the process of "Translation" of medical research previously funded by Pharmaceutical and biotech companies who have decided not to pursue certain projects for commercial or strategic reasons. Where SGS Capital believes that the scientific rationale behind the project is capable of delivering patient benefit the charity will ensure that the project is successfully developed for the patient.
