As Westpac's General Manager, Asia Pacific, Michael Correa is responsible for overseeing all of Westpac's business operations in Asia, as well as client, partner and regulator relationships. Michael was appointed to the role in March 2018. Michael is a proven financial markets executive with over 20 years of regional industry experience, including 8 years in Asia. Michael joined Westpac's financial markets team in 2011 leading the global capital markets business. Prior to joining Westpac, Michael spent 17 years with ANZ, including eight years in Asia, where he was the Regional Head of Global Markets, Asia Pacific and Global Head of Structured Products and Equity. Michael has a strong trading background, starting in Australia with a series of trading banks before joining ANZ in 1994, where he held successive roles in the interest rate derivatives trading desk, including managing the global options business based out of Sydney.
