Reimagining Healthcare in the Developing World: A Conversation with Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw

December 9 at 12 pm SGT

The novel coronavirus outbreak has demonstrated the degree to which low health system capacity leaves developing countries highly vulnerable to being overwhelmed in a pandemic. We could see post-COVID-19 healthcare being reimagined in the developing world as national economic priorities are reprogrammed towards universal healthcare. If this trend develops, new approaches could emerge to prevention, screening, diagnosis, therapy, monitoring, and management of disease. To address the desperate need for investment in healthcare infrastructure, will governments explore innovative partnerships with the private sector? Will demand increase for therapies that are patient-focused, data-driven, and digitally-enabled? Will patient care move to non-clinical settings driven and enabled by technology and connectivity?
