Philanthropy has a unique role and can be especially suited to resolve seemingly intractable issues that demand innovation, risk, and scale-up of solutions. When various sectors come together with a common purpose. significant progress is possible. An example is the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), embraced as a blueprint by countries, corporations, and individual philanthropists alike to tackle the world’s biggest problems, ranging from poverty to gender equality. By reimagining partnerships and convening the public, private, and government sectors to break down silos, we can work more efficiently and effectively. This discussion will constitute a virtual case study, identifying the core issues, the stakeholders convened to address these challenges, and how and why philanthropy is the best channel to drive these activities.
