Andrew is Head of Neuroscience and Mental Health at Wellcome. He has over 20 years of research experience in academia with expertise is in advanced human brain imaging, computational modelling and machine learning approaches. His role at Wellcome involves determining the funding strategy for a portfolio of projects that span a wide range of approaches in Neuroscience and Mental Health. He regularly works with other international funding agencies, government bodies and multinational companies. He recently led Wellcome's development for a new multimillion pound initiative on changing the landscape for mental health, with particular reference to young people. He is an advisor to BBC's Children in Need, and a Board member of The India Alliance.
