Cheryl Alston

Chief Financial Officer. Parkwood Entertainment; Interim Executive Director, BeyGOOD Foundation

Cheryl Alston serves as the chief financial officer of Parkwood Entertainment, the interim executive director of the BeyGOOD Foundation, and a member of the Inclusive Capitalism Executive Council at the Milken Institute. She is the former executive director and chief investment officer of the Employees’ Retirement Fund of the City of Dallas, Texas, a $4 billion pension plan for the city’s civilian employees. Alston provided leadership for the fund’s staff in implementing the programs necessary to achieve the mission, goals, and objectives established by the board of trustees.

Alston is an independent director on the board of Globe Life Inc., an insurance holding company. She also serves on the boards of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City, a not-for-profit health insurer, and the Janus Henderson mutual fund board. She was named one of the most influential corporate directors by WomenInc. and by Savoy magazines.

Alston received a presidential appointment to the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation Advisory Committee, serving two terms from 2011 to 2016. She also served as an independent director of the Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas from 2016 to 2021. Alston has more than 25 years of expertise in the financial services industry. She has served as an executive with CIGNA Retirement and Investment Services. Prior to CIGNA, she was a corporate banking officer at Chase Global Services, providing investment banking services for Fortune 500 clients. Alston holds an MBA in finance from the Leonard N. Stern School at New York University and a BS in economics from the University of Pennsylvania.

Alston demonstrates a strong commitment to the community through her service on various nonprofit boards and foundations, including CHRISTUS Health, the Arts Community Alliance, and the Dallas Mavericks Advisory Committee. She is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors and Women Corporate Directors.

She received the National Association of Investment Companies Hall of Fame Award and the Elite Chief Investment Officer Award in 2025 and the Power 100 award in 2026. In 2024, Institutional Investor selected her as Visionary of the Year. She has also been recognized by D CEO Magazine’s Power 500, Institutional Investor magazine, Dallas Power 50, and the National Association of Securities Professionals Pacesetter Award.
