William Wong

William Wong is the Director and Chief Executive Officer of Hang Seng Investment Management Limited (Hang Seng Investment), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hang Seng Bank. With over three decades of international experience in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan, and the UK, William has established a diverse career in banking, securities, asset management, and public accounting industries. Before joining Hang Seng Investment, William held a number of leadership positions including Group CFO and Member of the Management Committee at China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC), and Asia Pacific Chief Operating Officer at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. His expertise spans the fields of business development and management, distribution, strategy, finance, risk management, and operations-with a focus on driving business growth. William began his professional journey at KPMG in the UK and Hong Kong, and later joined HSBC as Financial Manager in Capital Markets, Money and Foreign Exchange Markets in Hong Kong. He has successfully built and managed businesses across diverse markets—including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Japan, India, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, and Australia—while fostering strong stakeholder relationships across cultures. A certified accountant, William has been a member of both the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) for over 30 years. He holds a first class honours Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Bristol.
