Duen-Chian (DC) Cheng

Duen-Chian (DC) Cheng, as an investment veteran with over 30 years of experience in financial markets, currently runs TGVest Capital, a private equity firm he founded in 2016. As the chairman of TGVest Capital, DC sets the firm’s strategies and oversees the firm’s investments. TGVest Capital is an Asian technology and manufacturing focused growth/buyout private equity firm. The firm was founded by DC as a spin-off from UMC Capital, the corporate venture company of semiconductor manufacturer UMC. From 2003 to 2016, DC served as the President of UMC Capital and was instrumental in building the team and leading many successful investments across Taiwan, US, China and Japan. DC currently holds multiple board director and independent board director positions in various public companies in Taiwan. Prior to joining UMC, he was the General Manager of Morgan Stanley Taiwan. During his time at Morgan Stanley, DC led and executed various notable IPOs, equity offerings and M&A deals in the technology sector. Before joining Morgan Stanley, DC worked at Goldman Sachs in Singapore and Hong Kong. DC graduated from Columbia Business School with an MBA. He is also a member of Taiwan YPO.
