Tony Uphoff is Publisher of The Hollywood Reporter and President of VNU Film & Performing Arts Group. Prior to joining VNU, he was vice president of technology media at Advanstar Communications. He also spent eight years at CMP Media and was part of the management team that took the company public in 1997 and sold it two years later. At CMP, he was president of the business technology group, responsible for overseeing Information Week, Network Computing and InternetWeek. He also oversaw the PC Expo and e-Business Expo trade shows, as well as the online portal Techweb. Before joining CMP, Uphoff spent seven years as vice president at Ziff-Davis Media, supervising the company's research units. He was also executive director in charge of the company's corporate sales and marketing organization, and advertising director for PC Week Magazine.
