James has extensive origination and execution experience (10+years), particularly with Emerging Market issuers. He currently manages a team that provides Debt Capital Markets coverage to Standard Chartered’s clients in Sub-Saharan Africa. Products include G3 debt as well as local currencies, Subordinated debt and Capital Solutions, Liability Management, and Securitization. Market pioneering initiatives in Sub- Sahara Africa includes introducing back-end amortising structures to reduce refinancing risk, extending tenors with the first 30 and 40- year bonds, the first EUR denominated bonds as well as novel approach to restructuring non-performing debt at State Owned Enterprises. James joined Standard Chartered in 2001 as a Graduate from CASS Business School and has worked in Group Treasury and the Corporate Banking team before joining Debt Capital Markets in 2007.
