Irene Gathiaka is the Regional Head for East Africa at Total Impact Capital. Her work mainly focuses on Origination, Corporate, and Investment Finance. Previously, Irene worked for Stanlib, Kenya, an Asset Management Company of the Standard Bank Group, headquartered in South Africa, as a Corporate Finance Executive. In her role, Irene was responsible for reviewing new non-traditional investment opportunities presented to Stanlib as well as being responsible for originating, advisory, and structuring such new non-traditional opportunities. Prior to that, Irene held senior positions at ABSA Bank, Nedbank, and McKinsey in South Africa. Among her other qualifications, Irene has a Bcom in accounting and is also a fellow at the Denmark Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She also recently acquired a CISI certification for financial professionals. Irene is also a presenter on a Kenyan business channel, where she presents a regular program that seeks to analyze occurrences and developments on the Kenyan business scene.
