Abdulkadir Abbas, is a seasoned Business Administrator and Capital Market, expert. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1991. He obtained an MBA from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 2007. IFC- Milken Institute fellow (2018). He has been the Head of Department of Securities and Investment Services, Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Nigeria since January 2016, having previously served as the Divisional Head, Fixed Income & Equities from 2012 to 2015. He has overseen the processing of application of the first-ever global offering conducted by SEPLAT, an offer which was dual-listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) and London Stock Exchange (LSE). Other recent notable transactions include AfDB Medium Term Note programme of N160billion, IFC Nigerian Bond, NMRC N140billion Medium Term Note Programme, Lagos State N275billion Medium Term Note Programme, and the first sub-national Sukuk issue of Osun State, amongst others. His broad-based Capital Market experience which goes as far back as 1997, has seen him serve in various strategic Committees such as the 10-years Capital Market Master Plan Committee, Capital Market Committee (CMC) sub- committee on Non-Interest Finance, Financial Services Regulation Coordinating Committee (FSRCC) sub- committee on Financial Markets, amongst others. He has attended various Executive Education Programmes on strategic topics such as the International Housing Finance and Securitization Course (Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania), Structured Finance training on Capital Markets (IFC-Milken Institute Capital Markets Program, USA), Securitization (Vinod Kothari, India), Fixed Income Securities (New York Institute of Finance), Leadership and Management (Lagos Business School), IFC-Milken Institute( Capital Market Programme) et al.
