2023 Request for Proposals: Misophonia Research Fund

The Misophonia Research Fund (MRF) and the Milken Institute have partnered for the past four years to advance a world where misophonia is scientifically understood and effective treatments are available to help anyone who lives with this disorder. Since this partnership began in 2018, more than $10 million has been awarded to 26 research projects from around the world to advance diagnostics and treatment options for misophonia.

For its fifth cycle of funding, the MRF is now accepting applications for research projects that seek to better understand misophonia, characterize symptomatology and associated impairments, and assess interventional strategies to treat those with the disorder.

MRF intends to award up to 10 misophonia research grants in 2023, each providing up to US$250,000 in total funding per year for up to two (2) years for a maximum aggregate total of US$500,000 to support research projects led by independent investigators at qualifying research-based institutions who hold doctoral-level degrees.

Postdoctoral applicants are also encouraged to apply to the Misophonia Research Fund. Postdoctoral researchers are eligible for grants providing up to US$100,000 in total funding per year for up to (2) years for a maximum aggregate total of US$200,000. These grants are intended to support postdoctoral researchers who will have earned their doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., Psy.D., Au.D.) by July 1, 2023, and are under the mentorship of a doctoral-level principal investigator at a qualifying research-based institution.

Letters of Intent (LOIs) are due on Friday, December 9, 2022. To learn more, download the RFP.
