Aggie McMahon Stephens

Aggie McMahon Stephens is an associate director with MI Philanthropy, working on the Science and Health portfolio. With a background in clinical neuroscience, she specializes in science philanthropy, research sector development, and global collaborations that maximize the impact of investments in science. At MI Philanthropy, she advises on giving strategies and implementation tactics that holistically benefit the research ecosystem. Stephens additionally serves as a board member for the Institute of Neuroethics. Prior to joining the Institute, she was a science program specialist at The Kavli Foundation, where she acted as program director for the International Brain Initiative, facilitating cross-sector collaborations for large-scale neuroscience projects. She was previously the program manager for ENIGMA, an international consortium in neuroimaging and genomics. Stephens earned a BS from the University of North Carolina and MSc in clinical science from the University of Colorado. She is based in the Institute’s Washington, DC, office.
