In the Fight Against Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR), the UK Wants to Make Sure We Win (Invite only)

Friday, December 03, 2021
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
The Dorchester - Orchid Room
The last two years have demonstrated the extent to which public health risks influence the global economy. Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)—that is, when microorganisms such as bacteria fail to respond to treatment—is a public health issue of growing concern. If AMR remains unchecked, it may exact a global cost of at least US$100 trillion annually by 2050. The UK is one of many countries looking for innovative solutions to support an antimicrobials development pipeline. This salon will build on collaborative work by the Milken Institute and the Wellcome Trust to discuss lessons learned from the UK pilot program, along with measures the rest of the world can implement to combat AMR.
