A Scope of Reality: Is Net Zero Achievable? (Invite only)

Thursday, December 02, 2021
12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
The Dorchester - Ballroom
The dust has hardly settled on the most comprehensive gathering of climate leaders since 2015: The United Nations Conference on Climate Change COP26 Summit. The results of discussions around decarbonization, a circular economy, renewable energy, and measuring Scopes 1, 2, and 3 greenhouse gas emissions will be crucial to keeping the atmospheric temperature from rising beyond the agreed goal of 1.5 degrees Celsius. Reaching agreement on actionable next steps is vital because the equation today does not equal net zero. Panelists will review how companies and economies are investing to meet their climate commitments. The discussion will cover developments from the COP26 Summit, the reality of where technologies are today, the scale of sustainable investments needed, and whether net zero by 2050 is achievable.
