Resilient Communities I: Adaptive Buildings and Infrastructure (Invite only)

Thursday, January 23, 2020
9:15 AM - 11:15 AM
Maple Suite (40 Hollow Square/20 Perimeter)

In order for California to sustain economic growth and enhance future quality of life, leaders at all levels of business and policy along with key community stakeholders will need to reimagine and re-structure investment in infrastructure with a focus on resiliency. The Golden State needs to create future-focused built environment and resilience systems that can respond to the new normal of climate and old challenges like earthquakes. Flexible approaches will likely be needed to help communities effectively respond to the differing fiscal and capacity challenges they face. An opening panel of top experts will highlight emerging strategies for solving the state's resilience puzzle and using this shift to catalyze regional and resilient economic growth. A mini-lab, following directly after the panel, will explore ways for the state to better partner with local communities to accelerate this Regions Rising strategy.
