Toshiyuki Kumura joined Japan Investment Corporation (“JIC”) in November 2019 and became Chief Investment Officer and a member of the board of JIC in December 2019. Prior to this, Mr. Kumura joined Tokio Marine & Fire Insurance Co., Ltd in 1983. In 1997, he led a newly created team to begin investing in private equity funds, hedge funds, emerging markets, and other alternative products. In 2002, he transferred the PE fund investment team to Tokio Marine Asset Management Co., Ltd (“TMAM”), and as a Head of Private Equity, he provided investment advisory services and Fund of PE Funds products to institutional investors and pension funds as the first Asset Management Company in Japan to provide such products.
