Ms. Breier serves as a co-chair of the Public Policy Group and Senior Advisor for Latin America at Covington & Burling, in Washington, DC. She leads client engagement for the firm in Latin America, with a particular focus on helping clients with investments in Mexico, Colombia and Brazil. Prior to joining Covington, Ms. Breier served as Assistant Secretary of State for the Western Hemisphere under Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. She was unanimously confirmed by the United States Senate in 2018. She served as a Trump administration appointee, as the Western Hemisphere Member of the Policy Planning Staff at the Department of State.

Ms. Breier previously served for more than a decade in US intelligence as a political analyst and manager, primarily focused on Latin America. During the Bush administration, served at the White House in the National Security Council’s Office of Western Hemisphere Affairs. She holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies from Georgetown and a B.A. in Spanish from Middlebury.
