Ying Staton

Managing Director, Asia
Ying has built her career at the intersection between public policy, sustainability and finance. She started in the British government, where she worked in a number of roles including leading research for David Cameron during his first year as Prime Minister and two years managing UK aid programmes in Uganda. She then joined Global Counsel, a strategy and policy consultancy, where she set up the company’s Asia practice out of Singapore, and was also concurrently Asia Managing Director for ABG Advisory, a spin-off of Tony Blair Associates. She has spent the past 6 years building the Asia business and heading sustainability for Plastic Energy, a London-based climate tech start-up. She is a CFA charterholder and speaks Mandarin. She has lived in Singapore for the past 10 years.
