Javier Garcia, CEO, World Central Kitchen
Javier Garcia is a Spanish-born American entrepreneur based in Washington,
DC.
With a background in law and international business administration, Javier
started his career supporting Spanish agro-food companies’ exports globally. He
moved to the US two decades ago and, conversely, helped European food
products enter the American retail and food service market.
As a Washington D.C. metropolitan area resident doing business in the restaurant sphere, he inevitably
crossed paths with chef José Andrés. Jose shared his dream of feeding the world with Javier. That dream
sounded too tempting to pass, and he joined Jose in his dream of becoming a founding director of World
Central Kitchen.
Javier has been an active board member since the beginning of WCK and has played a key role in
supporting the organization’s growth and frontline efforts. As Treasurer and Executive Co-Chair, Javier has
helped build a financially resilient, innovative, and frontline-centric organization capable of sustaining
tremendous growth over the past 15 years.
With his boots-on-the-ground involvement, he has also been instrumental in building today’s WCK’s global
relief response.
