Eugene Kandel

Eugene served as a Professor of Economics and Finance at the Hebrew University and the University of Rochester for 35 years. His work influenced the structure of the US equity markets during the 1990's. Since 2023 Eugene serves as the Chairman of the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, which exhibited stellar performance during his tenure. In addition to serving on several boards, he founded and chairs two non-profits that help strengthen Israel’s economic and social resilience. Eugene advises governments, financial institutions, and non-profit organizations. In 2015-21 Eugene was the CEO of Startup Nation Central, an NGO that promotes Israeli technological innovation around the world. In 2009-15 he served as the Head of the National Economic Council and the Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister of Israel, actively shaping economic strategy and policies.
