Richard joined Railpen in 2014 and became Chief Investment Officer in 2018. Railpen provides asset management services to the Railways Pension Scheme, one of the largest open defined pension schemes in the UK. Together with his colleagues, he has helped to build Railpen’s investment capabilities. Today Railpen has 50 investment professionals who manage assets including public and private equity, real estate, infrastructure, and fixed income. In his two previous investment roles, he managed global fixed income portfolios for Railpen and has consequently been associated with the organization since 1995. Richard is a member of the National Trust’s Investment Committee and a trustee of a university college endowment. He has held a variety of other non-executive positions in the charity, asset management, pension, endowment, and insurance sectors.
