Pinchas Cohen

Pinchas Cohen, MD, is the dean of the USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology at the University of Southern California. Dr. Cohen graduated with highest honors from the Technion Medical School, trained at Stanford, and held faculty positions at the University of Pennsylvania and UCLA. He is an internationally acclaimed scientist in aging research and the emerging field of microproteins. Dr. Cohen published over 350 papers and has an h-index of 97. He received numerous awards for his research, including a National Institute of Aging “EUREKA” Award, the NIH Director Transformative RO1 Grant, the Glenn Award for Research in Aging, the AFAR Breakthroughs in Gerontology (BIG) Award, and the Irving S. Wright Award of Distinction in Aging. He is an elected fellow of the Gerontological Society of America, was a past president of the Growth Hormone Society, and was named PBS-Next Avenue Top 50 Influencers in Aging. He is a member of the National Academy of Inventors, holds several patents for novel micropeptides, and is the cofounder of CohBar, (NASDAQ:CWBR) a clinical-stage biotechnology company developing novel treatments for Diabetes and other diseases of aging. He leads new initiatives at USC focusing on “precision aging” and “Age-Tech.”
