Monish Mahurkar

Monish Mahurkar is IFC’s Vice President for Corporate Strategy & Resources based in Washington DC. In this role, he leads IFC’s key corporate functions including Corporate Strategy, Human Resources, Technology and Budget. Monish joined IFC in June 2012 with over 25 years of international experience at Citibank, Merrill Lynch and ADB. He led banking and capital markets businesses in Mumbai, London, Tokyo, New York and Manila, including as Managing Director and Treasurer of Citibank Japan, Managing Director of Risk Treasury at Citibank New York, Managing Director & Head of Fixed Income for Merrill Lynch India and Head of Local Currency Capital Markets at ADB. Prior to his current role, he served as Director of Treasury Client Solutions and then as Director of Treasury Market Operations at IFC. Since 2015, Monish has been closely involved in a series of strategic WBG initiatives including Finance for Development, IDA18 Private Sector Window, Forward Look and Capital Increase discussions helping shape IFC’s development strategy and 2030 Agenda. Monish holds a BA (Hon) in Economics from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University and an MBA from IIM Bangalore, India.
