Baskar Reddy is the Executive Director of Syngenta Foundation India. He has over 17 years of experience in the agriculture sector. He is currently working on scaling-up the flagship initiative - Agri-Entrepreneur (AE) model. He is the founding member and director of the Agri-Entrepreneur Growth Foundation (AEG Foundation), a joint initiative of Syngenta Foundation, Tata Trusts and IDH, Netherlands. Over the next five years, AEG Foundation plans to develop 100,000 agri-entrepreneurs and directly impact 15 million small farmers. Before joining the Syngenta Foundation India, he was the Director, Agriculture at the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Delhi. He worked closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India on formulation and implementation of some key agriculture policies. Baskar was instrumental in developing India’s first PPP framework in agriculture i.e. Public-Private Partnership for Integrated Agriculture Development (PPPIAD), which has become a formal policy of the Ministry of Agriculture, Government of India. He holds a Master’s Degree in Water Science and Technology and Ph.D. in Soil and Water Conservation Engineering from IARI, New Delhi.
