Ronald O'Hanley is chairman and chief executive officer of State Street, a leading provider of financial services to institutional investors with $31.6 trillion in assets under custody and administration at the end of 2018. He is also a member of State Street's Management Committee. O'Hanley previously was president and CEO of State Street Global Advisors, the company's investment management arm and a global leader with $2.5 trillion in assets under management. Prior to joining State Street in 2015, O'Hanley was president of asset management and corporate services for Fidelity Investments, president and CEO of BNY Mellon Asset Management and vice chairman of BNY Mellon. He serves on the boards of Unum Corp., Rhode Island Commerce Corp., The Boston Foundation, The Conference Board, the East/West Institute (Executive Committee), the IYRS School of Technology and Trades, Syracuse University, and WBUR. Ron's philanthropic and civic interests include corporate governance, retirement/healthcare policy and funding, education, and climate. He has led several initiatives on gender equality. O'Hanley received a B.A. from Syracuse and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School.
